The Access to School Project is an ambitious project which seeks to consistently increase enrolment and retention of out of school children in the hardest to reach urban slums and rural communities of Nigeria.
According to a recent report by Global Education, two thirds of children in the poorest households in Nigeria for instance, are not in school and almost ninety percent of them will probably never enroll. Forty percent of Nigerian children aged 6-11 do not attend any primary school with the Northern region recording the lowest school attendance rate in the country, particularly for girls.The consequences of this reality are dire. Firstly because of the exponential growth rate of Nigeria’s population – with children and adolescents accounting for 44% of the estimated population of 184 million.

We have been able to send over 700 children back to school from the inception of the project.
